The very first Pyro sold was destined for the stress relief of springs. This first oven yielded 30% rejected parts. Many tests of time and temperature were run. The final temperature was an increase of 100°C, which was far above the recommended temperature. Cycle time was reduced to 3 minutes from the previous 60 minutes for a CrSi 6 mm wire! Surprisingly, this new in-line, ultra-lean process yielded no rejects. Since then, Pyromaitre has developed more than 25 similar systems. This process has since been consistently proven and reproduced with the most stringent of protocols and is now used not only for stress relief but also for equal benefits in tempering.
